About Tommy:

Tommy Crawford is a New York-based actor, singer, musician, and songwriter. He graduated from Yale University in the spring of 2009. He spent a summer at the Williamstown Theater Festival. Upon coming to New York in the fall of 2009, Tommy joined the Bats, the award-winning resident acting company of the Flea Theater. At the Flea, Tommy appeared in New York and world premiere plays by Nick Jones, A.R. Gurney, Sheila Callaghan, Sean Graney, and many others. In the fall of 2012, Tommy received his Equity card playing Mark in the world premier production of A.R. Gurney’s Heresy.

Tommy has appeared in readings, workshops, and productions at numerous other New York and regional venues, including New York Stage and Film, The Cape Cod Theater Project, The Lark, New York Theater Workshop, The Cell, Ars Nova, Theater Row, The Invisible Dog, and Galapagos Art Space.

Tommy co-founded and leads The Lobbyists, an americana/folk-rock band based out of New York City. Together with the band, playwright Seth Moore, and director Liz Carlson, Tommy created SeaWife, an original nautical ghost tale which received its world premier production summer 2015 in New York with Naked Angels in partnership with the South Street Seaport. Part concert, part play, SeaWife features The Lobbyists as both musicians and the players in this haunting, romantic, and tragic one-of-a-kind event. For more on SeaWife, please visit the Official SeaWife Website.

The Lobbyists released their debut EP, Our Home, in winter 2013, and released a 6-track album of songs from SeaWife in June, 2015. To listen to The Lobbyists’ music, learn more about the band, and find out about upcoming shows, please visit The Official Lobbyists Website, and like their facebook page while you’re at it!

Tommy has also composed for and music directed several projects, including The Grapes of Wrath and Seamus Heaney’s adaptation of Antigone, The Burial at Thebes, in which Tommy composed and performed live new music, both at UCSD’s MFA Program at The La Jolla Playhouse.
